Fire: Flames are what you use to deal damage to your opponent. In damage mode your damage increases by 35% while in tank mode it is reduced by 20%. Your character will be highly resistant to controls and will be able to use Immolation and Ignition.
Ice: You can create weapons of any shape using ice and attack your opponents or create ice winds to shield you group. Damage mode increases your damage by 35% and tank mode reduces it by 20%. Cryogenics and Storms are your main specialty.
Mental: You can control your opponents by the sheer might of your mind. As usual you gain 35% damage in damage mode and in controller mode you group will recover 110 power in 5 seconds.
Nature: Nature is your ally and is best use for healer roles. Damage roles garner you plus 35% damage while healing mode reduces your damage by 35%. Fire and Ice characters are vulnerable to your attacks.
Sorcery: Spell-casters summon pets and revive fallen comrades. In damage tole you get a bonus of 35% damage however healing mode penalizes you 35%. Fire and Ice characters are weak against you.
Gadgets: Your main advantage is your tools and weapons. Damage mode gives you a bonus of 35% damage while controller mode provides your party with a recovery advantage of 110 power over 5 seconds. Nature and Sorcery characters have a hard time in dealing with you.
This is just a brief overview of the different Power skills available for you to choose form. Within each Power skill are different sub-powers which you can unlock over time.
